Black Thursday

Black Thursday refers to the day of October twenty forth in 1929. In the summer of 1929, American had well development of economy. Everyone in the street liked to talk about nothing except for the stone market, and the minister of finance even gave the promise that this kind of prosperity would be continued. However, on the day of October twenty forth, something unfortunate hit all the Americans. Because the stock quotes declined dramatically, and from then on, the economy of America got into sluggish. And this event not only influenced the whole world, but became an unprecedented and the most serious economic crisis. And after Roosevelt took the president place, he enforced NewDeal policy in order to revive the depression. The policy included three R, recover, relief and reform. And until 1939, Roosevelt’s newdeal policy eventually got succeeds. However, all the Americans can never forget this important event. Therefore, now the “black Thursday” is used to refer to the break of stocks.
